Why is it called Strawberry Square?
This was the concept that resurfaced in the late 1960s to save the once hustling and bustling area rotted away by neglect and abandonment. It was decided that Strawberry Square would be built adjacent to the Capitol at 3rd and Walnut streets. This corner had provided for more than one upscale edifice.
